Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Unplanned Care Therapy Team. The post holder will have the opportunity to gain experience in working across our busy A&E, Assessment areas including frailty at the front door.
There are opportunities to engage in training and development, innovative practice and service development.
You will have professional support for your CPD from Band 7 Therapy team Leaders andsupport from Senior Occupational Therapists from other specialities as required.
The post may also require working with the other inpatient therapy teams to provide senior therapy support.

Main duties of the job
- Assesses and treats own caseload of patients / clients in a speciality and maintains associated records.- To have a responsibility for Training & Development of occupational therapy staff, students and other staff groups in this speciality. Supervise less experienced occupational therapists, assistants and students.- Participates as a member of the therapy team and the MDT within a specified clinical area.- Has a responsibility re-own CPD and other developmental activities.- Involvement in identifying and carrying out departmental audit, research or service development activity.- Participates in weekend, evening and Bank Holiday on-call for acute respiratory patients.- Participates in providing 7-day services and extended working day, as required by the service. (Some of our services work on extended hours rotas working between 8 am and 8pm.)

1. Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC (or student Occupational Therapist with qualification pending)
2. HCPC registration
3. Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist
4. Core Rotations as a Band 5 Therapists in a range of core areas: Orthopaedics, Medical or Frailty Inpatients, Neurological Rehabilitation
5. Previous care experience
