About Naturalmat
At Naturalmat we’ve been hand making natural, organic and sustainable beds and mattresses at our workshop on the banks of the river Exe in Devon since 1999. We buy all of our raw materials direct from source, we manufacture everything ourselves and we only sell direct to customers via our own showrooms and website. It’s this level of control that allows us to offer the best possible product and experience to our customers.
Sustainability has been at the heart of Naturalmat since day one. We pioneered sustainable packaging back in 2007 and installed solar panels on the roof of our factory in 2012. In 2020 we received a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development and we recently became the first B Corp certified bed & mattress company in the UK.
We currently have showrooms in London, Devon, Knutsford, Cornwall and the Cotswolds and recently opened a new workshop, office and showroom on our existing site in Topsham. It’s exciting times at Naturalmat and we need great people to continue driving this growth.
About the role
Our showrooms are where the Naturalmat brand really comes to life. Unlike most bed shops that line up row after row of mattresses under bright white lights, our showrooms are stylish, calm and welcoming spaces where we encourage customers to spend a good amount of time (sometimes hours!) finding the right bed and mattress for them. It’s an extremely personal choice and the service provided by our team is the most important aspect of that visit in ensuring they find what they need.
We are looking for a Part Time Sales Assistant for our revamped Topsham Showroom in Devon. The store features our full range including Naturalmat, Naturalmat Baby, our accessories and our sister brand, the Cornish Bed Company. Our Topsham showroom is particularly unique being connected to our workshop where we make our beds and mattresses.
Responsibilities
* Ensure every customer receives the very best experience wherever they are on their journey with Naturalmat - whether in store, over the phone, email or live chat
* Many items are customisable, so product knowledge across the range and brands is essential (extensive ongoing training is provided!)
* To assist with local outreach, grow sales and brand awareness
* To maintain consistently high standards of product presentation and cleanliness throughout the showroom
* To accurately process customer’s estimates, orders and sales
* Building strong relationships with the head office team and interacting collaboratively
* Adopt a proactive approach to customer service and deal with any queries that arise, whether that be a sales or after-sales enquiry
* The showrooms also manage online enquiries. Timely, accurate responses are a key part of the role.
* Be a Naturalmat ambassador at all times
About you
* You have retail experience, preferably in a customer focused environment
* Experience working in furniture retail or luxury sales would be ideal, but not crucial
* An interest in interiors, furniture & sustainability is key
* You’re self-motivated & a problem solver
* You enjoy working with others to get stuff done
* You’re hardworking & reliable – if you say you’re going to do something, you do it

Details
* This is a part-time role based at our showroom in Topsham, near Exeter
* 23 hours a week (negotiable)
* Discretionary company bonus twice a year
* 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays (on a pro rata basis)
* Negotiable rota of 3/4 days a week. Must include Saturday & Monday.
* Training will be provided in store and in our workshop.
