Overall Function To lead and develop the warehouse and transport operational department to ensure consistent, reliable and professional service to our customers. Responsibilities: Leading and developing the warehouse and distribution team through team leaders and supervisors. Reducing Operational Costs, improving profitability. To lead and motivate the team by using the management information available. Working with other departments to streamline operational running costs. Ensuring the warehouse and distribution operations run efficiently without disruptions. Implementing new processes and systems to streamline operations and increase efficiency. Involve the teams in making decisions through the development of focus groups looking at areas for continuous improvement and feedback on making the department a better place to work. Developing own fleet and managing third party couriers to ensure consistently reliable delivery. Space capacity planning and forecasting. Ensuring stock accuracy is improved and maintained through regular stock checks. Recruiting new team members to help achieve department goals. Assisting in setting department goals and budgets and ensuring they are met. Liaising regularly with line manager to feedback and discuss ideas and opportunities. Helping achieve our target of providing the best level of customer service in the industry. Candidate Requirements: Previous experience working as an Operations Manager (Essential) Holder of a Transportation Operations Licence (O Licence). Proven experience in streamlining Operational Processes and reducing operational cost (Essential) Strong leadership and team-building skills (Essential) Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities (Essential) Familiarity with inventory management systems (Essential) Effective communication and interpersonal skills (Essential) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment (Essential) Reach Truck and/or Counter-Balance Licence (Preferable) ISO Accreditation Experience (Preferable) Lean Six Sigma Experience (Preferable)
