As the Site Electrical Engineer, you will have a critical role in maintaining electrical safety on an upper tier COMAH site and making decisions on the safety and integrity of electrical and functional safety equipment.
You will also plan engineering activities to ensure continued safe operation over the long term.

This role will directly impact electrical safety across the site. You will manage specialist engineers, both staff and contract, and provide technical advice to senior leaders, both on site and at sector level.
Your responsibilities:
1. Defining, deploying, and providing assurance of standards and ways of working for all areas of electrical engineering across the site for high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) applications
2. Being the Senior Authorised Person for all HV and LV electrical infrastructure on site
3. Ensuring JM and third-party engineering designs, calculations and proposals are appropriate and conform to applicable standards
4. Creating and implementing a functional safety strategy and appropriate standards to maintain compliance with statutory regulations
5. Controlling the site's electrical asset replacement plan to maintain safe and effective operation over the long term
6. Developing and implementing an electrical safety strategy and appropriate standards to maintain compliance with statutory regulations
7. Investigating and reporting on all electrical incidents, accidents, and injuries on site
8. Supporting and guiding engineers, supervisors, designers, and technicians, including competency assessment, mentoring towards professional development, and providing in-house training.
9. Approving and providing final sign-off for critical modifications
10. Planning and controlling the safe and efficient switching of HV equipment and assets
11. Identifying and developing new skills to meet any gaps identified in electrical engineering either individually or in work groups.
Requirements for the role:
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering
2. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
3. Certified Functional Safety Professional or Engineer
4. Experience of Competency Management for EC & I Specification, Design and Maintenance
5. Senior Authorised Person up to 11KV
6. Detailed knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
