Engineering Manager
We are working with a forward thinking FMCG company who have a very ambitious growth plan ahead. They are now in a position where they require a highly experienced Engineering Manager to help facilitate these plans.
As Engineering Manager, you will be a key member of the management team and work with various departments to improve the manufacturing processes, health, safety, and environment alongside driving and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
1. Manage engineering activities within manufacturing and on-site facilities
2. Ensure products meet quality standards and cost objectives
3. Schedule and conduct PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) on time
4. Develop and maintain an effective and efficient engineering strategy
5. Establish and update standards and procedures for all site engineering activities
6. Use organisational and local data to prioritise and achieve engineering goals
7. Work with site management to optimise and improve plant productivity, including utilities management while complying with environmental laws
8. Manage site utilities suppliers for adequate and timely resources during emergencies or outages
9. Collaborate with R&D and production teams on new products and processes
10. Work with the Technical team to maintain compliance and good order of premises
11. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures
12. Participate in relevant in-house and external training programmes
13. Identify and understand the management of allergens, glass and breakable plastic control and organic products within the process
Person Specification
To be successful in the role of Engineering Manager, you will need:
1. Extensive leadership experience, preferably in FMCG environments
2. HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
3. Mechanical / electrical qualification or equivalent
4. IOSH Certificate
5. Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
6. Level 3 HACCP Certificate
7. Confidence in presentation, communication, and negotiating with professional peer groups
8. Efficient in delivering objectives and key measures
9. Ability to lead engineering segments of audits
10. Capability to manage priorities and projects across the organisation
Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits
Up to £50,000
45-hour week Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, some flexibility will be required.
