Controls Engineer / Control System Engineer / PLC Engineer / Automation Engineer
required to join a manufacturer of machinery that specialises in building and repairing motors and you will be responsible for designing and starting up controls systems for our machines.

Responsibilities:
1. Design control system for our machines from specifications provided by clients and our machine designers.
2. Select and size the electrical components.
3. Use Solidworks to make layout drawings and electrical schematics.
4. Finalize Bill of Materials, and component selection for purchasing and manufacturing departments.
5. Assist with installation of the controls on the machine and start-up of the machine in our factory.
6. Develop, monitor, and adjust project timelines to make sure all design work is completed on schedule and within budget.
7. Perform Controller Programming using Ladder Logic and/or Structured Text where applicable.
8. The company works primarily with Mitsubishi, but other manufacturer products may be used if specified by the end-customer.
9. Provide support to the manufacturing department during the building and installation process, ensuring machines are built according to design specifications.
10. Collaborate with the machine designers and with Manufacturing.
11. Manage project documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and client expectations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1. Demonstrated success in designing control and wiring systems.
2. A working knowledge of electrical controls and control circuits, including component wiring and the ability to size and select components.
3. Experience with PLC’s required. Experience with PC’s and other control system & programming is helpful.
4. Ability to carry out the orderly execution of a proposed project plan.
5. Willingness to travel to visit clients to review applications and support installations.
Education/Experience:
1. Five (5) years of experience in designing and installing control systems.
2. Proficiency with SolidWorks.
3. Experience managing design projects (2-3 years preferred).
4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
