Field Service Engineer - Heavy Plant & Equipment - Oxford/Birmingham & surrounding areas - UK Elite Consultancy Network have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their prestigious client, a market leading dealer within the UK heavy plant market. Responsibilities Self-manage the service and repair construction equipment Identify mechanical problems, using technical knowledge and computerised diagnostic equipment To be the main point of contact for the customer, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through effective resolution of queries and regular communication on planned site visits and machine repair progress Maintain a sufficient personal toolkit to enable you to carry out the job effectively Accurate completion of systems / paperwork Order parts for your work as necessary and to return parts in a clean condition at the time of job completion, to aid the efficient invoicing of workshop jobs To assist and coach colleagues with technical support and guidance where necessary Flexibility to work overtime as and when necessary and to honour reasonable call out requests Attend any relevant product / systems training courses, staying away from home where required, to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete duties Qualifications A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural / HGV mechanics or related discipline (i.e. NVQ 3/C&G) Relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant, including proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics and electrics Advanced diagnostic and trouble shooting skills and comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, electrics and EATS Desirable: Welding and fabrication Be a good team worker Ability to communicate efficiently with colleagues, management and customers Commercially aware, effectively supporting the customers within the geographical area Problem solving ability and high level of diagnostic skills High standards and attention to detail Ability to understand technical literature/systems Benefits Annual pay review 38.5 basic hours per week - Core hours: Monday to Wednesday 08.00 – 16.30 Thursday 08.00 – 16.00 Fridays 8.00 – 15.30 Overtime paid after 38.5 hours at time and a half until 12pm Saturdays Overtime paid at double time after 12pm Saturdays 25 days annual leave 8 days bank holiday Pension – business will match employee contributions up to 5% Medical and dental family health plan Wellbeing App offering discounts and vouchers Financial/Physical/Mental Health Counselling and Coaching sessions Company bonuses Paid door-to-door Company van fuel card Laptop and phone Life Assurance: 4x annual salary 8 weeks full sick pay from day 1 Free Will writing service Uniform, full PPE Annual OEM training
