Digital Lead Midwife Band 8a This role is offered on a part-time basis of 22.5 hours per week, encouraging candidates interested in working part-time to apply, with a salary on a pro rata basis.
We are seeking a dynamic Digital Lead Midwife to join the senior leadership team within the Perinatal Services at Great Western Hospitals. The Digital Lead Midwife role will be the clinical lead in the implementation of digital programmes, engaging clinical staff in capturing requirements for clinical digital solutions and providing professional advice to the implementation teams.
The post holder will work closely with teams to promote the uptake of digital technology and lead the digital team in identifying, evaluating, and coordinating developments with associated clinical digital systems and devices. This includes validating clinical content, engaging with service users, liaising with appropriate Trust Clinical Groups and Services, and planning the utilization of the collected data to transform clinical safety and effectiveness within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The Digital Lead Midwife role requires a strong clinical background and experience in teaching and training. The role involves presentations and training sessions, providing clinical guidance to both the project team (in dealing with raised clinical issues) and practitioners, supporting them to use digital technology in their clinical practice. This includes supporting service user interfaces to ensure digital solutions are accessible to all.

To lead and support the strategy, design, development, and further implementation of the digital maternity solution across the Trust. Provide support and leadership to all organizations developing maternity systems within the Trust. Maintain and optimize a clinically focused, evidence-based maternity system to ensure information systems support the delivery of best practice clinical care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Degree in Midwifery
* Evidence of recent post-registration continuous professional development/qualification
* Masters level study (or working towards)
Experience
* Significant experience in a senior midwifery/nursing position at Band 7 or above, currently working in a leadership role.
* Experience of midwifery practice in hospital and community settings.
* High degree of professional development.
* Experience in writing reports/presenting information internally/externally in a timely manner to a range of Senior Managers.
* Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team, acting as an ambassador of a specialty.
* Experience of leadership and problem solving in clinical settings, patient care, and experience.
* Experience in setting and achieving objectives/KPIs.
* Evidence and experience in delivering midwifery operational and strategic performance.
Knowledge
* Continuing Professional Development as required by the NMC.
* Excellent skills with IT systems and a strong understanding of maternity and organizational IT systems.
* Aware of current developments in maternity and relevant specialist clinical practices.
* Able to demonstrate effective leadership style.
* Advanced decision-making skills with the ability to think, plan, and deliver strategically.
