Job Description
Working as part of the operations team but supporting the wider business, you will provide expert advice on contractual matters. On a day-to-day basis, you will manage the commercial and contractual administration of assigned projects and service contracts. You will also work closely with our departments, for instance assisting the bid and technical teams with contractual governance, pricing and risk management at contract tender stages.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee a wide range of quantity surveying duties; including but not limited to:
* Provide contractual advice to the business and operational delivery teams.
* Administration of the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects and contracts.
* Management of project costs, identifying opportunities for savings and driving value.
* Preparing and submit payment applications and assess sub-contractor applications.
* Administer contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub-contractors
* Proactively identifying risks and manages variations and changes to contracted scope.
* Prepare and submit KPI’s, job costings and financial reports as necessary.
* Assess potential contractor and supplier claims and make recommendations for settlement.
* Finalise contractor accounts and close out contracts.
Qualifications
Skills & Personal Qualities
* Strong financial skills, including CVR, P&L and Cashflow.
* Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications & Experience
* At least 3 years’ working experience as a QS, ideally in a Fire & Security or M&E environment.
* Preferably degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline.
* Experience of the JCT and NEC 3 & 4 standard suite of Contracts.
* Knowledge of Construction Design Management Regulation.
