Operations Deputy Coordinator - Home Independence
Location: Aylesbury

Please note this role will require weekend working approximately once every 2 months and some shift work.
The location base for this role is Aylesbury; however, this is a community role, so travel is required around the county. Therefore, you must have a full driving licence with access to a vehicle and be willing to travel county-wide as necessary.
About us
The Home Independence service supports individuals to regain their independence following illness, disability, or recent stay in hospital. We work with clients in their homes, identifying whether they now have difficulties with self-care or performing daily activities. We provide a goal-based assessment for each client and support them in achieving their goals, using technology-enabled care devices and occupational therapy aids.
The team works closely with healthcare professionals, carers, clients, and their families to develop suitable packages of support designed to enhance client independence and meet their needs. We supply advice on specialist equipment options, monitor client progress, and make necessary adjustments if required.
About the role
You will support the management of operational aspects of the Home Independence Team, ensuring that quality standards are maintained, the needs of clients are met, and the service is safe and effective. You will work in accordance with the Better Lives Strategy framework which promotes and supports people to be responsible for their independence.
You will be part of the Planning Team scheduling social care assistants' work schedules, collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the line management of a team of social care assistants providing one-on-one support in the community. You will also carry out audits to ensure that we are delivering a safe service.
In addition, you will update care plans based on reviews and initial assessments and manage staff with a non-complex caseload. You will ensure that processes are audited and adhered to in line with CQC requirements.
On-the-go:
Our ‘on-the-go’ roles mean you’ll usually start and finish your day from a base, moving around between different locations throughout the day. You won’t need a fixed desk to work from, but you’ll have access to our network where you can keep up to date with admin and the latest staff updates.
About you

Naturally, you will be a great people person, caring and empathetic, with the ability to work with challenging client groups sometimes with specialist needs. You’ll have good knowledge of adult social care as well as relevant legislation including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and experience of applying this across a range of complex situations. Additionally, you will maintain a positive and professional attitude that enhances the professionalism, quality of service, and image of the council.
