About the Position
The city is currently seeking to appoint motivated, engaging, customer-focused Community Patrol Officers to join our Community Safety team. Our team works with the community to create a safer City by providing a highly visible and responsive service that engages with the community.
We achieve this by:
* Offering 24 hour, 365 days a year service.
* Conducting community patrols throughout the City’s 30 unique suburbs.
* Observing, monitoring, and reporting suspicious behaviours to reduce preventable crime.
* Providing advice and information on various relevant Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws.
* Investigating complaints and actioning solutions for our Community.
* Collaborating with WA Police as required, sharing relevant information.
Key Responsibilities
To be considered for this position you will have:
* Ability to deliver a visible and responsive Community Patrol Service that is engaging within the community, intelligence-driven, and proactive to the demands of the evolving customer.
* Patrol designated areas to deter and report on crime and antisocial behaviour in the district of the City of Stirling.
* Ability to administer and enforce the various relevant Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws, where required, and provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers regarding community safety matters.
* Security industry or related experience, including experience with community patrols, alarm response protocol, and use of CCTV systems.
* An understanding of local community safety and security issues.
* The ability to confidently engage with the community and deal with difficult situations to achieve positive outcomes.
* Experience in accurately reporting and capturing information in reporting systems.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to think on your feet and problem solve using professional judgement in a lawful and accountable way.
About You
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired:
* Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
* Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work on a rotating roster (including nights, weekends, and public holidays).
* Excellent time management and report writing skills.
* Patrol or security experience.
* Experience in following occupational health and safety (OH&S) procedures.
* Certificate II in Security Operations.
* Valid Western Australian Security Officer licence.
* The right to work in Australia.

This is a Level 5 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $77,514.91 – $81,597.55 per annum plus superannuation plus penalties where applicable.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have the ability to obtain a:
* 100 points of identification.
* National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
* Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance.
