Description Artem provides services to the entertainment industry, working in Film, TV, Exhibition, and Museum sectors amongst others. Because of the unique and individual demands of specific projects, we are often required to create bespoke electronic controls and interfaces to support these endeavours. These may range from a simple flashing LED to a radio control system for a full-size train. Most projects are effectively one-off prototypes. On occasion, timescales for provision may be extremely short, thus a flexible approach to the work is definitely required, as is a practical hands-on approach. Salary Range £37,000 - £44,000 per annum. Skills & Experience Essential Hardware design for 3 phase control systems, including component specification and installation Experience working with high power motors and actuators or industrial automation Experience installing power distribution systems/power management for large electrical installations General Soldering skills, both PCB and wiring looms Researching and specifying components for electrical systems, both for small scale battery powered applications and larger-scale projects Fault finding/problem solving Maintaining workshop equipment Cautious of safe practices in electronics Capable of surviving last minute changes to a brief. Experience in the use of high-level programming languages such as C, C++ and BASIC would be useful. The post is may require occasional periods of off-site work anywhere in the world. Desirable Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, PIC, etc.) and their use in control circuits, (particularly power control such as switching of loads, and control of AC and DC motors) Some knowledge of DMX, other show control systems Experience in the creation and production of PCBs (layout, adherence to required design rules, arranging for manufacture etc.) would be beneficial Knowledge of electrical firing systems for stage pyrotechnics Application Process Please apply using your CV.
