Job Summary
We are seeking an ambitious & passionate chef to head up our pub kitchen in Brighton. This role would most likely suit a sous/CDP chef who is looking to take on their first kitchen. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for creating exceptional dishes that delight our guests while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. We are looking for a menu focused on seasonal small plates with a few gastro pub classic mains. Happy for menu to change weekly/daily based on seasonability. The pub/bar serves local cask ale, local wines, premium draught and well crafted cocktails.
Duties
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
* Create new menu items and specials, incorporating seasonal ingredients.
* Ensure that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-maintained at all times.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent guest experiences.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant setting is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising and managing kitchen teams.
* In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
* Experience with menu planning and cost control is an advantage.
Salary & Benefits
Starting basic salary of £28-30K, pay review after 12 week probation period.
