The Client
Our well-established client who covers residential warranties and building control services is now looking to expand their team and is seeking a Building Control Surveyor.
The Role
The Building Control Inspector will be responsible for arranging and undertaking inspections of projects during construction to help ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and associated guidance for residential developments typically up to 11 metres high.
Key Responsibilities
1. Undertaking inspection of works along with plan checking
2. Producing detailed records of all inspections undertaken
3. Ensuring that all project records are on the database
4. Ensuring at completion of works that all relevant inspections have been carried out and any defects/non-conformities have been addressed before final certification is issued
5. Carrying out duties in accordance with QMS procedures
6. Delivery of a consistent service and building effective client relationships
7. Providing mentoring and support towards the training and development of our trainee and assistant building control surveyors
8. Undertaking, where required, inspections on behalf of the wider Group and in line with service level agreements
Experience and Qualifications Required
1. An excellent understanding of building regulations
2. Excellent problem-solving skills with a tactful approach
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
4. Time management skills and organizational ability
5. Excellent team working skills, with the ability to work effectively alone
6. At least 3 years practical experience in the construction industry
7. Demonstrable experience in the ability to interpret plan appraisal of residential and mixed-use developments
