Compliance Manager

Reed Food & FMCG are recruiting on behalf of an established Manufacturer based in Leeds. Our client is seeking a highly diligent Compliance Manager with exceptional attention to detail. This pivotal role requires a conscientious individual who understands the significant impact of defective products on a company’s financial standing and reputation. The Compliance Manager will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our quality and compliance standards.
Day to Day of the role:
* Manage BRC and ISO accreditation requirements, ensuring compliance with both standards
* Oversee the site’s Quality Management System, implementing improvements, conducting reviews, and ensuring updates are made
* Lead the HARA team and manage the site HARA plan
* Conduct third-party and customer site audits related to quality
* Manage the internal audit process, scheduling, and completion
* Handle nonconformances from audits, ensuring they are logged, actioned, and monitored for effectiveness
* Establish and monitor quality and compliance objectives and KPIs
* Prepare for quality meetings and senior management review meetings, including report presentations
* Manage supplier approval and performance monitoring processes
* Oversee the calibration schedule for equipment
* Act as the contact for the pest control contractor
* Write, review, and update site policies and management procedures
* Manage document and record control
* Present compliance updates during customer quality reviews and daily meetings
* Lead the crisis management team, arranging mock withdrawals and traceability exercises
* Assist with quality aspects and cover for the Quality & Technical Coordinator when absent
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven background in quality and regulatory compliance with essential field experience
* Strong influencing skills and the ability to articulate messages clearly
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
* Problem-solving and proactive thinking abilities
* Flexibility and exceptional attention to detail
* Proficiency in MS Office packages, including Excel and Word
* A willingness to learn and ambition to grow within the organisation
* Experience working to deadlines and targets in a fast-paced environment
* Experience in building relationships and liaising with stakeholders
* Data analysis and statistical skills
* A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
