Our client, an oil and gas operator, currently requires a Marine Technical Manager (Logistics) to join the team on a long term contract basis.
Responsible for:
1. Providing technical expertise, advice and assurance for offshore marine vessels.
2. Leadership and resource management of employees and assigned contractor personnel.
3. Acting as Fisheries Liaison Officer (FLO) on behalf of upstream in the UKCS.
4. Serving as Air and Sea Branch Director in the local Incident Management Team (on rotation).
Key responsibilities, tasks and activities:
1. Safety, security and sustainability performance and follow up in marine vessel and operations contexts.
2. Assuring the verification of marine vessels according to current legislation, industry standards and requirements of Classification Societies.
3. Providing input to and maintaining the framework for vessel specification, integrity and safe operations including responsibility as author of governing documentation.
4. Managing assigned marine vessel contracts.
5. Representing the company in direct liaison with an assigned Contract Representative and focal points within key contractors.
6. Responsible for the risk and follow up plan with key contractors, leading regular performance reviews and addressing key risks and solving complex tasks together.
7. Maintaining relationships with OEUK, Fishing Industry bodies and the business as Fisheries Liaison Officer to ensure adherence to UKCS regulations and standards for safe operations at sea.
8. Monitoring marine vessel performance including technical effectiveness, emission management and budget/cost focus.
9. Implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
10. Representing Logistics at local Industry, supplier and peer collaboration forums.
Critical Skills and Behaviours:
1. Seagoing marine experience in a senior officer position is required.
2. 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
3. Ability to shape and lead on safety, security, and performance improvement frameworks.
4. Comprehensive understanding of Logistics processes, industry standards, performance acceptance criteria and target setting.
5. Track record in leadership and people development.
6. Ability to prioritize and influence situations of conflicting priorities and perspectives.
7. Understanding of performance and governance requirements including emergency response protocols.
8. Ability to build industry and cross-business networks to promote logistics operations and safety standards.
9. Ability to deliver on Company values and promote "I am Safety" and security expectations.
