Job overview
We are recruiting for an Electrician Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplined team of maintenance staff and technicians to provide installation work on all facilities, plant, and equipment within the trust.
You will provide technical engineering advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, fabric, and utility services for the trust. You will be a technician with an electrical background and be able to carry out roles with minimum supervision.
You should be able to travel between various hospital sites.

Main duties of the job
1. Diagnose and repair faults on Healthcare Building Services.
2. Deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others.
3. Be responsible for ordering engineering spares, materials and equipment needed to undertake the works.
4. Understand the working, layout and operation of healthcare Building Services including all the Trust's properties and instruct others on maintenance and inspection.
5. Complete planned preventative maintenance schedules on various plant, fabric and equipment using specific tools and equipment and utilizing highly developed skills necessary for relevant accuracy. Input information onto Planet FM computer program and utilize to best plan workload. Update regularly to keep abreast of development of the Trust/Hospital.

Qualifications/Training
* Approved Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or City Guilds Technicians Certificate, BTEC ONC or equivalent in relevant topics
* Current IEE 18th Edition
* Relevant training courses, particularly NHS/HTM orientated
* First Aid Certificate
* Portable Appliance Testing - City & Guilds
Previous Experience
* Previous experience working on breakdowns and PPM on technical, electrical plant found in a hospital environment.
* Working within a team or on own initiative
* Experience of working in a demanding environment with many, sometimes conflicting priorities.
Skills
* Good verbal and written communication
* Ability to manage a high volume of work and ability to problem solve.
* To be computer literate.
* High degree of accuracy and diligence.
* Able to solve problems or pre-empt problems by employing appropriate measures and processes.
* Flexible and keen to progress and be trained in other skills.
* Keep accurate and legible records.
