Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Prototype Technician contractor to support our team at REE Automotive. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low-volume prototype vehicle builds and experience with various aspects of electric and mechanical vehicle construction.
The primary function of this role is to assist in building components into assemblies and final vehicle assembly activities. Essential skills include experience with suspension components, corner unit assemblies, power hydraulics, electric motors, braking systems, electrical harness installations, and prototype interior trim and body panels.
Awareness of working around high-voltage battery packs and both low- and high-voltage vehicle systems is also necessary. Additionally, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform basic measurement and inspection tasks, and operate a range of workshop equipment is required.
Requirements for this position include being an HV Authorized Person (or equivalent) trained, having motor vehicle qualification to secondary level desirable, and being proficient with basic workshop equipment such as electric vehicle charge points and wheel balancing machines.
This role involves test vehicle commissioning and shakedown processes/procedures, awareness of basic test and verification instrumentation activities and components, and knowledge of component and vehicle level DVP testing and data gathering desirable.
