Applications are invited for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biomedical Services Operations and Standards Coordinator, to play a pivotal role in maintaining excellence across the University Biomedical Services Department. UBS provides a comprehensive biomedical service to our research community, facilitating in-vivo research to University departments including external commercial organisations. It provides the support required to ensure animal facilities run efficiently, effectively within a safe, legal and Home Office compliant environment that meets best practice standards at all times and promotes the ethical use of animals. This new role is an exciting opportunity to oversee the coordination, production and maintenance of our department's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Key responsibilities: Develop, produce and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to support efficient and compliant departmental operations. Collaborate closely with technical and specialist staff across all UBS facilities and sites to ensure uniformity in practices and standards. Monitor and ensure adherence to the legal compliance framework, maintaining the highest standards of care. Support continuous improvement initiatives, focussing on operational reliability and compliance. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to stay abreast of regulatory updates and implement necessary changes. Requirements: A thorough understanding of the legal compliance framework related to biomedical services. Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring SOPs and operational practices are of the highest standard. The role is available immediately and subject to a 6-month probationary period.
