The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a totally collaborative organisation made up of nine partner companies (Anglian Water, SWECO, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, and Skanska) and an extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. What will you be doing as our new Senior Design Manager (Water Recycling East)?
As our new Senior Design Manager, you will lead the engineering team responsible for delivering a diverse programme of capital investment projects, including critical infrastructure like Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDs), as well as enhancements to Sewerage Treatment Works.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and Develop the Engineering Team: Plan and allocate resources effectively, recruit and develop talent, and ensure the team delivers high-quality engineering outputs.
2. Drive Innovation and Sustainability: Embrace new digital technologies and develop sustainable solutions to reduce carbon and protect natural capital, aligning with PAS 2080 principles.
3. Ensure Safety and Compliance: Fulfil the role of CDM Principal Designer, championing a strong health, safety, and welfare culture within the team.
4. Collaborate and Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration to achieve project goals.
5. Deliver Excellence: Instil a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours.
To join our team, you’ll need a degree in Engineering, preferably with Chartered Engineer status, experience in water recycling non-infrastructure and substantial experience in leading multi-disciplinary design teams on complex capital projects. Your expertise in fulfilling the responsibilities of a CDM Principal Designer will be crucial, ensuring safety and compliance across all design activities.
