The opportunity
Our client works with test companies in the Oil & Gas sector, focusing on building early production facilities. They have also designed and supplied equipment for complete plants, as well as smaller projects such as skid automation. Given their increased expansion, they are currently looking to expand their team and are seeking an experienced EC&I Design Engineer to join their growing team.
The role
This role will be Chester / Fully Hybrid based.
Salary: £50-65k per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, Fully hybrid with occasional meetings at the Chester office. Majority of work conducted via MS Teams.
This is a home-based role, ideally within commuting distance of the Chester office. The role will also involve domestic and international travel to client, supplier, and company sites.
Remuneration and benefits
£55-65k Per Annum. In return, you will also receive 25 days holiday and a great opportunity for career progression within a growing team.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Design of PLC panels (based on Siemens S7, PCS 7, Rockwell Control Logics, etc.)
2. Production of General Arrangements (GA's), Circuit Schematics, Cable Schedules, Load Lists, Architecture Diagrams, Termination Schedules, Bill of Materials (BOM's), and other project documentation.
3. Understanding of Process Plant Field Instrumentation.
4. Knowledge of ATEX, IECEx, and IS requirements for electrical apparatus in hazardous areas.
5. Familiarity with Safety Integrated Systems (accredited to FS Eng is advantageous).
6. Design of LV electrical distribution systems, including backup power and changeover systems.
7. Design and specification of motor control centres, switchboards, and distribution boards for LV systems.
8. Specification of LV soft starters and Variable Speed Drives (VSD's).
9. Electrical field installation design for Oil & Gas separation trains and associated systems.
10. Preferably HND or degree-qualified in a relevant discipline, or with equivalent industry experience.
11. Ability to liaise with suppliers and clients at various levels.
12. Production of project documentation using standard MS Office tools, Amtech (Trimble), and AutoCAD.
13. Liaising with certifying authorities such as DNV or BV.
14. Adherence to both local and global design and quality standards.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
1. Proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector, particularly in EC&I design engineering.
2. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. A proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery.
