Your role
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) are seeking a Lead User Experience (UX) Designer who has the skills to build and lead our emerging UX community of practice. Working as part of an agile product team you will conduct user research and design the UX and UI of digital customer experiences using industry standard tools like Figma and UserTesting. You will work on an exciting range of improvements to better our community by helping to make it easier and safer for people to plan and make their journeys on the ‘Bee Network’ and drive behaviour change towards more sustainable public transport, cycling and walking choices.
As a Lead UX Designer, you will champion the customer, defining and optimising digital experiences alongside the engineering and product management practices. You will be comfortable conducting quantitative and qualitative user research, and analysing and communicating the outcomes to a range of stakeholders. You will design accessible digital experiences from low fidelity UX wireframes to high fidelity UI designs using and developing our design system and clearly communicating the rationale and intent behind design decisions.
As the lead of the UX community of practice you will also have responsibility for establishing best practice by continuously developing principles, processes, tools and techniques. As the UX community of practice grows you will manage a team of UX professionals helping to develop them to maximise their capabilities.

You will have an opportunity to build and lead a UX team and community of practice within TfGM and deliver impactful solutions that enhance the transport experience for Greater Manchester's residents and visitors.
This is a permanent role and comes with a salary of £59,989 - £65,316 per annum depending on experience. This is comprised of base salary plus market supplement, (£47,539-£52,866 plus MFS of £12,450 - the market supplement is paid monthly and reviewed annually).
