Role Overview:
Our Service at Selhurst Road (Croydon) is a 24 hour supported project that provides accommodation in Croydon for young people in care facing homelessness, with a maximum length of 2 years. It was commissioned by London Borough of Lambeth for young people who are 16-17 years old.
Joining the team as Night Young People Support Worker, you will develop positive relationships with the young people and support them to develop the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.
In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive environment, covering a number of core work activities and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients, volunteers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* You will hold specific responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular risk assessment, health and safety checks and reporting in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy.
* You will ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
* You will proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams to support the well-being of clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols.
* You will have responsibility as a member of the team for preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the clients to settle in.
* You will form an integral part of the team and as such attend team meetings when required.
* You will liaise with Depaul’s internal departments including Finance, HR, Fundraising and Business Development as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the service.
Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a full-time (37.5 hours a week), permanent role.

* Experience of working in a busy support or care environment.
* Experience of working with non-UK nationals or those who have experienced homelessness.
* Experience of using Risk Assessments and Support Planning.
* Experience of operating safeguarding requirements and procedures.
* The ability to lone-work and being pro-active.
* Personal and professional integrity.
* High level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries.
* Effective collaborative working.
