My client is a global listed hospitality group with diverse locations globally, with this role being based in the Caribbean.
Resort Senior Chief Engineer
You'll oversee the engineering responsibilities for a 500 room resort and water park and will manage a stable team of around 20 skilled staff. You'll need to be a highly motivated, energetic, and inspirational leader who can work to sound structure and processes, as well as being a highly adaptable problem solver. The successful candidate will need to be able to relocate with financial help from the company within the next 8 weeks. The package designed is attractive, including relocation, vehicle allowance, and housing allowance or subsidy.
Specific Knowledge & Skills Required:
1. Extensive knowledge of building trades, electrical, mechanical, HVAC&R, plumbing, and general building practices.
2. Knowledge of life safety systems - HVAC a strong focus.
3. Knowledge of facility regulations and safety standards (OSHA, EPA, AD, CFC, NFPA).
4. Strong project management skills.
5. Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies, and equipment.
6. Working knowledge of hotel operations and laws governing operations.
7. Strong organisational skills.
8. Strong energy management systems control and monitoring.
9. Strategic planning skills.
10. Ability to effectively manage labour productivity.
11. Financial management skills, for example, the ability to analyse P&L statements, develop operation and utility budgets, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning.
12. Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems.
13. Ability to take constructive action without relying on directions from others.
14. Ability to exercise flexibility in order to accomplish goals.
15. Effective decision-making skills to minimise/manage risk (Risk Assessment).
16. Strong problem-solving skills, encourages new innovative solutions when appropriate.
17. Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
18. Strong customer and team member relation skills.
19. Emergency, EHS management, and disaster preparedness.
Qualification/Experience Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
2. Strong background and experience in HVAC.
3. Must possess at least a first degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
4. Certification as required to comply with local and national codes: (Certified Engineering Operations Executive (CEOE) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) should be obtained by the candidate).
5. Hospitality experience of a large hotel or resort.
