We are seeking to appoint an experienced, active, and self-motivated Teaching Assistant that will be based at one of our two main academic sites: Elmbridge School and White Bridge College.
You will be deployed across the service to support and engage pupils on our roll (many of whom have significant barriers to learning) both in the classroom and in the supervision of sporting/outward bound and enrichment activities. Previous experience of working within an educational setting supporting pupils is essential to contribute towards a positive learning culture, promoting success and pupil well-being. While experience of supporting outward bound activities/learning outside of the classroom is desirable.
Tameside Alternative Provision Academy is a Key Stage 2-4 PRS, committed to the education of pupils permanently excluded from school, as well as others who have special educational and medical needs. The successful candidate will be joining a diverse and vibrant local authority committed to excellence and where support for our most vulnerable young people features prominently in our priorities.
The KS3 and KS4 facilities were purpose-built in 2012 under the Building Schools for the Future programme and offer outstanding opportunities for further development.

An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) with a barred list check is required for all successful applicants. Also, this post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.
