Job Opportunity: Squeak & Rattle Engineer Function: Whole Vehicle – Body Acoustics (EGPK) Job Type: Full-time I am looking for a highly motivated and skilled Squeak & Rattle Engineer to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will support the delivery of current and future model line test and development activities, working closely with the Attribute Technical Manager to ensure the successful technical development and delivery of whole vehicle attribute target performance. You will be responsible for meeting project deadlines, staying within budget, and collaborating with both internal and external partners. Key Responsibilities: Support the setting of attribute targets through competitor benchmarking and analysis. Lead the development of squeak and rattle attributes to ensure whole vehicle performance targets are met on time, within budget, and aligned with our quality standards. Lead complex problem-solving activities, including issue detection, root cause analysis, and development of countermeasures to deliver balanced design recommendations. Manage the concerns process and ensure the effective delivery and implementation of solutions through design functions. Oversee squeak and rattle testing and analysis for current projects, using both onsite test rigs and external proving grounds. Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure consistency in attribute standards across the business. Manage outsourcing activities with key service providers and suppliers. Support the strategic development of the Squeak & Rattle Attribute, driving continuous improvement through the identification of new methods, techniques, and technologies. Practical & Technical Knowledge: Experience in product or attribute development and delivery. Familiarity with component, system, and whole vehicle technical specifications and design critique. Expertise in physical and/or virtual test and development, including simulation, component and whole vehicle rigs, prototype testing, and both static and dynamic tests. Strong experience in complex concern analysis and root cause investigation. Subjective and objective evaluation skills, including jury evaluation studies. Proficiency in documenting and presenting development progress, concern investigations, and countermeasure recommendations. Skills & Experience: A proactive, customer-focused mindset with the ability to take initiative. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with peers and senior management. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks within project constraints. Collaborative, with the ability to influence and deliver results to a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Experience working cross-functionally across R&D, Design, Quality, and Production teams. Qualifications: HND/Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, ideally supporting squeak & rattle development.
