We are delighted to seek applications for Consultant Geriatricians to work within our Elderly Care Team. There is a generous financial Welcome Payment (£22,000) available in addition to relocation expenses.
These posts help deliver an integrated approach to managing the increasingly frail and complex patients within Salisbury and the surrounding rural area, based out of Salisbury Foundation Trust (SFT). Our Elderly Care team is currently modernising its care for frail elderly patients, with a new Acute Frailty Unit now established alongside dedicated Elderly Care wards. There is ongoing development of frailty SDEC services and integration of a Hospital@Home service. Successful candidates will be involved with working within and leading these services, whilst also developing the services offered.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the acute medical on-call rota at SFT on a 1:16 basis, as well as other clinical commitments such as acute care ward rounds, frailty same day emergency care, rapid access clinics, Specialist clinics (including Parkinson's disease and falls), and MDT meetings.
The post is advertised as full time (10 PA’s), but less than full time or flexible working would also be welcomed.

GMC
* GMC registration
* Possession, or within 6 months of possession, of a CCT
Experience/Clinical Skills
* Evidence of wide experience and a high level of competence in General Adult Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Stroke Medicine, as well as some leadership skills and evidence of team working.
* Knowledge and application of up to date evidence-based practice
Management Experience
* Ability to perform effectively as a member of a team, including a multidisciplinary team and to motivate and develop staff
* Commitment to active clinical governance and learning from errors
Communications Skills
* Demonstrates clarity in written and spoken communication.
