Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our band 6 Physiotherapy team. You will be expected to provide a high standard physiotherapy service undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
This post is also available as a Band 5 to 6 development post. You will make recommendations to the clinical lead/manager of the service for changes to practice by the team, and may lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to development of service protocols. Regular supervision and support are provided, along with a robust program of in-service training to support your development into a band 6 role. You will be expected to support and supervise junior staff and students. You must be a car driver, and on-call participation is expected as part of this role. Main duties of the job
* Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
* Use advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide diagnoses and develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
* Manage your own caseload and a defined area of the service without direct supervision.
* Supervise, educate, and assess physiotherapy students, assistants, and staff-grade physiotherapists; provide specialised advice to other healthcare professionals in the clinical area.
* Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to enhance clinical practice.
* Make recommendations for practice changes and potentially lead their implementation or contribute to service protocol development.
* Formulate and deliver individual treatment programmes based on assessments, evidence-based practice, and treatment options, employing specialised clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
* Assess and manage clinical risk within your own and delegated patient caseloads.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
* State Registered
* Car driver for community work
* Relevant courses and training
Occupational Experience
* Range of clinical education placements
* Respiratory on-call competence or in the process of achieving this within 3 months
