Could you be the full-time Programme Manager to join our Fleet Support Engineering (FSE) team within the UK&I Services Central Engineering (SCE) organisation?
Your future role:
Take on a new challenge in Derby and apply your Engineering Management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Head of Fleet Support Engineering, and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Engineering team in Alstom UK&I.
Day-to-day, as an Aventra FSE Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) you will act as the main interface between SCE and the depot Fleet Maintenance Engineering (FME) teams, programme managing the engineering work packages to be worked in SCE at the request of the FME teams.
We’ll look to you to:
* Review new Aventra work packages (CCT Change Requests and TQs) submitted to SCE, ensuring FME's requirements (i.e. SCE's deliverables & FME's desired/required timescales) are captured and understood.
* Liaise with the appropriate SCE Functional Head(s) to secure appropriate engineering resource for each WP (work package).
* Ensure SCE progresses WPs in line with FME's priorities and Alstom's overarching business requirements.
* Hold weekly reviews of WPs with the depot FME teams on behalf of SCE, providing status updates for FME's top priority WPs.
* Ensure WPs are being progressed by the WP lead engineer as per the committed delivery plan, supporting the engineer by helping unblock WPs as required and trying to minimise any delays.
* Communicate any programme slippage of WPs to FME, managing the depot's expectations accordingly.
* Review and approve Engineering Change (EC) documentation (inc. supporting Risk Assessments) to ensure the EC fulfills the Change Request.
All about you:
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Essential:
* Be able to effectively manage customer relationships.
* Good programme management, project management, and organisational skills.
* Able to understand engineering issues at a top level, and liaise with engineers on their WPs.
* Knowledge of Rolling Stock systems.
* (Where required) ad-hoc travel to the UK rail depots and other Alstom sites in support of the WPs for your fleet(s).
Desirable:
* Qualification in Programme Management (e.g. MSP) or Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
* University Degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering).
