Job summary The post is for a part time, permanent Orthotics Officer/Podiatry Assistant. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the day to day running of the Podiatry and Surgical appliance office, ensuring that admin tasks are met, and a quality service is delivered. The role will include: Providing assistance to a supervising Podiatrist/Orthotist in the delivery of podiatric treatment and admin support where necessary. Assisting the podiatrist to carry out foot care and health promotion activities. Receiving and initially deal with telephone and written enquiries and complaints. Dealing with urgent matters appropriately, ensuring that Department procedures are followed in order to record/follow-up as necessary. Providing admin support for the Orthotics service using Oracle to procure and track Surgical appliance orders through the system. Main duties of the job Your role will also include: Supporting the administrative needs of the Podiatry and Orthotics Service including using the oracle procurement system and the administration of orthotic invoices. Providing basic foot care to patients of the Podiatry Department under the direction of the Podiatrists and to support the delivery of Podiatry services in all its dimensions. Responsibile for booking and rearranging of appointments for the Surgical Appliance/Orthotic department and the Podiatry service as required. Arranging patient appointments including Hospital transport if applicable. Ensuring all clinics are full to capacity. Ensuring that all new applications are processed appropriately. Actioning necessary changes to the clinical programme when notified of sickness/absence of clinical staff. Notifying patients of cancelled clinics and ensure that these patients are rescheduled as soon as possible.
