What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager Strategy, Leadership & Development provides expert advice on issues that impact on nursing and midwifery leadership and development at local, district and state levels. Lead role in developing and implementing strategies to support nurses and midwives, in terms of education, career development, practice development, and safety and quality.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible.
* Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant post graduate qualifications in health management; education or similar studies and at least five years post graduate experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience in dealing with state, national and international nursing and midwifery issues, policies, priorities and directions.
* Extensive recent experience in working in a complex organisation at an executive level, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate advanced problem solving /negotiation and change management skills
* Demonstrated ability to develop and contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans at an organisational wide level.
* Highly developed relationship management skills to influence and negotiate outcomes, liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and promoting a strong change management culture.
* Demonstrated leadership, management and negotiation skills in order to engage key stakeholders in the development and adoption of nursing and midwifery strategies, priorities, and safety and quality initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to critically analyse, identify opportunities, lead critical projects, and have a commitment to improving organisational performance through strategic planning, innovation, and quality improvement, with an ability to work under pressure and deliver on strict timelines.
* Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the Local Health District with some overnight stays.
