Genomics England partners with the NHS to provide whole genome sequencing diagnostics. We also equip researchers to find the causes of disease and develop new treatments – with patients and participants at the heart of it all.

You will play a vital role in ensuring our contract and supplier management activities align with both local and national policies. You’ll work closely with Tribe Leads, Service Owners, and senior stakeholders to drive value for money and ensure our supplier partnerships deliver exceptional results.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including DHSC and the Cabinet Office.
* Support and influence the development of the Commercial Strategy & Standards Framework (CSSF).
* Define, implement, and continuously improve contract and supplier management activities, including BAU operations and future re-procurement.
* Oversee key supplier contracts (Tier 1 Gold & Tier 2 Silver), ensuring performance aligns with business objectives.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial contractual risks to ensure strategic alignment.
* Drive effective contract management, including monitoring supplier performance, managing disputes, and ensuring successful delivery of KPIs.
* Support the development of contract management toolkits, guidance, and best practices to enhance commercial capability.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure contracts deliver value for money and align with organisational needs.
* Support the Director of Commercial Procurement and contract management colleagues in contract and supplier management activities.
* Champion Commercial Procurement as a strategic business partner that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term priorities.
We anticipate that the ideal candidate will have:
* Full contract management lifecycle experience, with a track record of effectively supporting and improving the performance of suppliers and stakeholders.
* Experience building and managing internal & external commercial or partner relations with significant spend.
* The ability to identify and mitigate commercial risk, to be able to use the relevant tools to identify risk throughout the full commercial lifecycle.
* The ability to use analysis and data to deliver commercial outcomes.
* Understanding of Central Government & Departmental Contract & Supplier Management capability programmes.
* Understanding of Government Commercial Standards i.e., CCIAF, Sourcing Playbook, Consultancy Playbook.
* Understanding of Public Contracts Regulations (PCR) and Procurement Act 2023.
* Use of Public Sector Procurement Frameworks e.g., CCS Frameworks and knowledge/ implementation of appropriate contractual terms, KPIs, SLAs.
Salary from: £64,500

Blended working model
Genomics England operates a blended working model as we know our people appreciate the flexibility that hybrid working can bring. We expect most people to come into the office a minimum of 2 times each month. However, this will vary according to role and will be agreed with your team leader. There is no expectation that people will return to the office full time unless they want to, however, some of our roles require full time on site attendance e.g., lab teams, reception team.
Our teams and squads have, and will continue to reflect on what works best for them to work together successfully and have the freedom to design working patterns to suit, beyond the minimum. Our office locations are: Canary Wharf, Cambridge and Leeds.
