Business Development Manager - Home Textiles An exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work for a leading global market leader in home textiles has arisen. As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company's strategy for omni-channel growth at key UK retailers like Tesco, B&M, B&Q, Sainsburys, The Range, etc. and for institutional sales activities. Responsibilities will include strategy development and retail execution, maintaining and establishing long-term partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders, establishing and reporting sales targets and goals, and developing a sales culture that focuses on strategic account management to drive revenue growth, increasing sales within existing and new accounts, increasing market share and improving customer satisfaction levels. Identifying new sales leads Effectively drive sales and market share growth. Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events Research organisations and key industry professionals, identify new leads and potential new markets and reach out to potential new clients. Monitor, evaluate, report and respond to market and competitor activity. Pitching products and services Prepare and update market comp-shop across bath, bed, area rugs and relevant product categories. Prepare and update sample and order tracker every week. Liaise internally with the office and factory to follow up on orders and new development enquiries. Prepare PowerPoint presentations and sales displays for meetings and exhibitions/trade shows as required. Arrange samples to be sent to the factory or customers. Contact clients to inform them about new developments in the company's product portfolio. Developing quotes and proposals Maintain a cycle of regularly scheduled calls with all members of the team and coordinate strategic review sessions to evaluate progress compared to identified goals and objectives. Review product lines, submit quotes, and respond to all customer requests, inquiries and feedback in a relevant and timely manner. Developing sales plans and ensuring goals are met. Strategic development of account product placement and promotional programs Maintaining existing customer relationships Handle current business day-to-day queries. Prepare and initiate regular meetings with customers. Identify new opportunities with current customers. Drive and work closely on seasonal product offerings with design and merchant teams. Keeping track of outstanding payments or any claims and liaising internally with the finance team to help resolve with respective customers. Accurate reporting. Personal Requirements Track record of sales success in the home textiles industry. Sales experience working with and selling to national retailer accounts such as Tesco, B&M, B&Q, Sainsbury, The Range, etc. Maintain a professional relationship with customers and ensure they are satisfied with the company's services. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills. Prompt and accurate reporting to senior management and stakeholders. The ability to develop and manage budgets and programs. The ability to foster a collaborative effort among team members, providing both motivation and direction to drive excellence. Strong critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills with proven decision-making skills. Knowledge of accounts, market characteristics, competitive environment and growth opportunities
