Applications are invited for a Pharmacy Technician to support our clinical teams with prescriptions, take home medication, admin and audits at our boutique private hospitals. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a hugely reputable organisation and provide the highest standards of care. What we need from you: To act as super user for the Pharmacy stock-control system. Liaise with clinicians to agree PAR stock levels for each clinical department and maintain the agreed levels through regular ordering of supplies. Set PAR stock levels for the Pharmacy store and maintain the agreed levels through regular ordering of supplies. Maintain the proper documentation within the Pharmacy Stock Room to comply with CQC and home office CD regulations Support the hospital with the implementation and compliance with the Falsified Medicines Directive. Use the controlled drug order book to procure any controlled medicines Raise requisitions/orders for pharmacy supplies and ensure all orders are properly authorised. Place orders with suppliers for all Pharmacy goods. Set up and maintain online-accounts with as many suppliers as required. Receive incoming stocks in accordance with operating procedures to ensure that the correct goods and quantities are received against the corresponding orders. Ensure that the receipt of all medicines is counter-signed by the RMO or another registered health practitioner. Verify medicines upon receipt as recommended within the Falsified Medicines Directive. Ensure that all medicines are stored according to correct legislation as out-lined in the Medicines Management Policy. Store and locate stock in the correct place and sequence to comply with correct stock rotation in accordance with the approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Decommission medicines before dispensing them to clinical departments as required by the Falsified Medicines Directive. Issue stocks to departments, recording this in the correct ledger, and ensure all transactions are processed through the computer stock system. Carry out regular stock checks within the Pharmacy Stock Room and balance to the computer system. Report any discrepancies to your line manager. Carry out expiry date checks within the Pharmacy Stock Room to prevent wastage and keep records of these for at least three years. Complete spot checks once a month, within each clinical department, to ensure that proper stock rotation and expiry checking is being maintained. Undertake full reporting activities to identify stock control discrepancies as well as investigations on non-issued, wasted and expired drugs. Ensure that the security of the Pharmacy Stock Room is maintained and highlight any issues/report any breaches to your line manager. Assist with the monitoring of correct temperature within the Pharmacy Stock Room. Have an awareness of Care Quality Commission (CQC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and Home Office regulations for pharmacies Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications: NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or National BTEC in Pharmaceutical. Sciences or equivalent nationally recognised qualification. Accredited underpinning knowledge National Accredited Checking. Registered Pharmacy Technician with The General Pharmaceutical Council. Expert Witness/A1 NVQ Assessor Qualification or willing to undertake. A full UK Driving licence is desirable Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
