Admin Support to Lung Cancer Specialist Nursing Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Lung Cancer Services Team for an admin support worker. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated person with admin experience to help support the Lung Cancer Nursing Team.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
* To respond in an efficient, polite, and timely manner to all telephone calls received via the CNS team office.
* To convey telephone messages accurately to the appropriate practitioner.
* To be responsible for the accurate in-put, up-date, and amendment of patient related information onto the computerised IPM system (electronic patient administration system).
* To action all instructions initiated by CNSs about the appropriate booking for outpatient appointments in Consultant/ CNS clinics.
* To liaise with consultant medical staff and their teams as and when necessary.
* To be aware of and adhere to all Trust & Local policies and procedures, including confidentiality, ensuring that all information handled within the department is dealt with to the highest standards of confidentiality and security.
* Respond in a professional and positive manner when dealing with confidential or sensitive information.
* Have a working knowledge of molecular profiles in Lung Cancer and their importance to patient care.
* Distribute discharge summaries to tertiary sites following discharge from the surgical ward.

Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* Good written and verbal skills.
* Demonstrable Admin/Clerical Officer experience in a clinical setting.
* Proven knowledge of patient management systems, such as IPM, ILAB, CRIS.
APTITUDE & ABILITIES
* Patient-focused attitude.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload.
* Ability to work across multiple teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
* GCSEs in English and Maths level 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Keyboard Skills.
