Autism Anglia and Doucecroft School, based in Colchester, are seeking an Exams Officer and Data Administrator. The successful The examinations officer is responsible for the organisation and smooth running of both internal and external examinations. The officer acts as the primary liaison between the school and external examination bodies. They will be familiar with the requirements and regulations placed on schools by both awarding bodies and the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), and will ensure that the school is compliant with these before, during, and after examination periods.
Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6
Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 per annum (Term Time only, plus additional days for training) depending on experience
Hours: 38.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per annum (term time only) plus 3 days per annum during school holidays
The role:
* Fulfil all aspects of Exam administration including the processing of examination entries, registering Doucecroft for being an accredited center for qualification delivery and processing statement of results.
* Support the development and maintenance of school academic data systems including the collation of data 6 times per academic year.
* Manage registration and administration of candidates for all examinations
* Understand the regulations and requirements of all examinations held by the school, both internal and external
* Recruit, train and manage invigilators as required
* Make arrangements for sharing timetables, results, and examination certificates with students
* Be familiar with data analysis reports and tools, and be able to share results data with stakeholders as appropriate
* Play a full part in building good relationships with other staff and students and with parents/carers and external bodies, but at all times to communicate effectively and maintain professional boundaries
* Have a thorough understanding of autism and treat students with dignity and respect and to be aware of the vulnerability of students at the school
* Promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people

* Relevant experience working with learners with autism or learning disabilities in an educational setting is highly advantageous
* Understanding of exam arrangements and experience of working with exam rules and regulation
* High level of ICT skills
