We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced End User Computing Lead to join our Team. As a key member of the ICT Team, you will be responsible for managing our Senior Technician Team (3 FTE) ensuring a robust, secure and optimised end user corporate device estate that supports the delivery of Digital Services across all areas of East Renfrewshire Council.
Working closely with key stakeholders across the Council, you will be responsible for designing, managing, supporting and optimising East Renfrewshire Council’s corporate device estate, including; desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and their associated software.
You will ensure the device estate is developed and maintained based on industry good practice, ensure alignment with the Council’s technology roadmap and propose & develop new technology solutions to support Council strategic objectives.
You will also provide 3rd level support to the ICT Service Desk troubleshooting complex end user problems, including liaising with both internal IT Teams and external Technology Partners as required, in pursuit of positive call resolution outcomes.
A key requirement is that you will have extensive technical knowledge & experience of SCCM, MS Intune and Endpoint management solutions creating & testing application packages and scripts. Demonstrable experience of managing a technical IT Team to deliver an excellent, End User Experience within a complex and fast moving organisational environment, is essential.
As well as experience of end user device administration, you should have experience of Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Single Sign-On, LDAP, Multi-Factor Authentication and Windows Server.
Significant experience of working closely with Infrastructure & Cyber Security colleagues to ensure proposed solutions are robust and secure and with the Service Desk to provide third level hardware and software support
You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to discuss technical concepts, identify project implementation issues and work with highly technical teams to remove barriers to project success. A key aspect of the role is to provide guidance and continual professional development to your team, whilst understanding business requirements and drivers for change. You will have well developed organisational skills and be able to manage workloads and competing priorities.

Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
