Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* You will work within a team of engineers to bring buildings to life!
* Designing various installations found in buildings which typically include systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage, lighting, power, controls and lifts, to deliver buildings which meet the needs of the people that use them.
* In addition, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of our Whole Life specialist services offering, assisting clients with the management of their buildings at all stages.
* The buildings take on many forms from newly built facilities to the refurbishment of historic premises within a variety of sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, education
and leisure.
* On a wider note, sustainability is at the heart of our business so you will get involved in designing sustainable buildings as well as the sustainability of our business.

Course contents
* Apply engineering principles, using relevant scientific, theoretical and technical know-how to solve well-defined building services engineering problems.
* Apply building services engineering techniques, procedures and methods, and review the results, when measuring and testing, designing, installing, commissioning, maintaining or operating building services engineering systems.
* Employ a range of advanced mathematical, statistical and data interpretation tools, using analytical and computational methods to interpret and solve well-defined building services engineering problems.
* Interpret and compare performance information to choose compliant materials, components or parts.
* Select and use technical literature and other sources of information and data to address well-defined building services engineering problems.
* Produce and interpret building services engineering technical drawings, designs, and models, using analytical and computer-based software packages, recognising the limitations of the software used.
* Produce building services engineering technical solutions in accordance with relevant industry standards, procedures, codes of practice, regulations, and legislation.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:

T Level in:
* Construction: Design, Surveying And Planning (grade Pass or above)
BTEC in:
* Extended Diploma in an Engineering subject area (grade MPP)
* National Diploma in an Engineering subject area (grade MM - Minimum Merit in Maths)
Desirable qualifications

Other requirements
This is predominantly an office-based role, using computers for long periods of time. Once you are settled in there will be visits to site, some of which could still be construction sites, others could be finished buildings. Initial interviews will take place via Teams and second-stage interviews will be in person at our office. You will work with multiple members of the team on different projects and deadlines, and so communication and prioritisation are key.
