JOB Description
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a very happy, energetic, bubbly and affectionate 6 year old boy living in the Rhoose area with my family.
I love bright colours and I am obsessed with Hey Duggee. I also enjoy
soft play, parks, and trampolining.
I have a diagnosis of ASD and Cerebral Palsy. I have limited speech but I can communicate. I also have global development delay meaning it takes me longer to reach certain milestones and I can be seen as younger than I actually am. I struggle to wait and follow structure, and prefer to navigate places in my own time.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The aim is to take me out socially to familiar places at first and then slowly build up to going to new places together. This will also provide my family with some respite.
HOURS OF WORK
I have 3 hours per week available which will be used on a Saturday or Sunday morning. During school holidays there will be more flexibility and the hours could be used during the week.
RATES OF PAY
£15 per hour plus 40p per mile where applicable
TASKS INVOLVED
Taking me out into the community to attend soft plays, parks, ALN sessions, McDonalds, playgroup and potentially new places eventually.
Helping me in and out of my buggy when going out.
Helping me in and out of the car seat.
Keeping me safe at all times as I have no sense of danger.
Helping me to navigate my surroundings when in new places.
Reminding me to use the toilet and help to get onto the toilet and potentially
some assistance with this.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Someone who is patient, active, and willing to get involved with me during activities when we are out.
Someone who has experience working with children with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
A car driver with business class insurance is essential.
A reliable and punctual person.
Someone who pays attention to me at all times to ensure my safety. I can run very fast.
A kind and friendly person.
A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
