ROLE TITLE: Learner Engagement Mentor
PRIMARY BASE: Hybrid – Working from Home, Customer Sites and Head Office
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Learner Engagement Manager
PAY: £25,500 - £28,000
WORKING PATTERN: Monday – Friday 8:30 – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
As a Learner Engagement Mentor, you will support our learners, ensuring their wellbeing and learning needs are met. You will communicate regularly with learners via various methods including meetings and 1-2-1’s and assist with various learner activities, whilst ensuring learner records are accurately updated and maintained. You are to effectively interact with both internal and external stakeholders to collaboratively work towards achieving personal, team, and company goals and objectives.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Support the Learner Engagement Manager in coordinating, facilitating and delivering group and 1-2-1 monthly meetings with learners.
* Manage and facilitate the Cognassist Programme for learners and provide support and guidance as required throughout neurodiversity assessments and engagement through Cognassist strategies.
* Notify the relevant departments of any additional learning needs identified from assessments and meetings and provide support to implement any reasonable adjustments and agreed action plans.
* Act as a mentor to learners, providing advice and guidance on issues or concerns raised and escalating queries to the relevant departments as required.
* Establish supportive relationships with all learners including vulnerable learners to ensure their personal needs, welfare, wellbeing, and learning progress is achieved.
* Ensure that all departments/colleagues receive the information they need in order to carry out their duties effectively.
* Motivate learners by personal influence and concern for individual needs and development.
* Assist with assessing, recording, and reporting learners’ progress and attainment.
* Learner records are to be accurately updated and maintained across all systems and databases, ensuring they meet Ofsted, ESFA and any other auditing bodies requirements.
* Liaise with and provide support to learner’s employers as necessary.
Administration
* Effectively use Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
* Data entry and filing alongside performing other routine clerical tasks as assigned.
* Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility.
* Scanning, printing, and running reports.
* Maintain accurate paper and electronic records.
* Competency in typing accurately with agreed level of speed.
* Identify problems and respond in a timely fashion.
Communication
* Communicate with all colleagues and external points of contact face to face, by telephone, or in writing in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
* Interpret and respond clearly, effectively, and in a timely manner to requests for information from colleagues, managers, directors, and external agencies.

Experience/Qualifications
* GCSE 4/5 or above/equivalent in Maths and English.
* Intermediate level MS Office including Word and Excel.
* A specific professional qualification relevant to the role within Additional Learning Support or Teaching and Learning (maybe exempt if sufficient experience demonstrated).
* Experience working in a similar supportive role in an office/educational setting.
* Experience using own initiative and working as part of a team.
* Experience working in a LSA or SEND/ALS role (maybe exempt if demonstrated training to sufficient level).
* Proficiency in MS Windows 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
