My client is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their expanding practice. This role will cover a range of responsibilities in a variety of different areas of bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax. The position is a full time role but they will consider part-time on a pro-rata basis.
Your role will cover:
1. Preparation, calculation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns to HMRC.
2. Preparation, calculation and submission of Self-Assessment Returns to HMRC.
3. Bookkeeping via a variety of digital systems.
4. Preparation, calculation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
5. Preparation of management accounts.
6. Preparation of annual financial statements.
7. Liaising with clients.
8. Operating with a regular portfolio of clients.
Qualifications and skills:
1. A good set of IT skills, with experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, accounts, tax and bookkeeping software, preferably with good experience of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent and IRIS /Digita.
2. Good communication skills, able to confidently liaise with clients by telephone, e-mail and face to face.
3. Good organisational skills.
4. Able to work as both individually and within a team.
5. Preference will be given to candidates with experience within public practice.
6. Preference will be given to candidates with AAT or above qualifications.
