In support of Reach Subsea’s growth ambitions, the organisation seeks to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead, manage and mentor a multi-discipline team of engineers supporting vessel based ROV construction, decommissioning, survey and inspection projects.
The Engineering Manager shall be responsible for the provision and quality assurance of all engineering deliverables and management of the engineering team as well as maintaining and developing the Reach’s engineering processes, procedures and standards. Reach operates in a matrix reporting structure, with the role reporting to both the region Managing Director based in Aberdeen, and functionally to the Chief Operating Officer based in Norway.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead, manage and mentor a multi-discipline team of engineers supporting subsea projects and tenders
* Identify and ensure adequate levels of training and competency in the engineering team
* Collaborate with the Project and Tender Management teams to manage engineering resources in support of tenders and projects.
* Resource forecasting, recruitment and onboarding of engineers to the engineering team
* Quality assurance of engineering deliverables
* Development of processes, procedures, templates and best practice documentation
* Ensure technical Lessons Learned are captured and implemented in tenders and projects.
* Ensure all engineering activities align with company procedures, design codes, and safety standards (e.g., DNV, ISO, API, etc.)
* Management of the engineering department budget with respect to utilisation, external subcontracted costs, training, travel and teambuilding.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in a technical domain such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field
* Experience in Senior, Lead or Engineering Manager roles in delivering vessel-based subsea construction projects, including inspection, repair and maintenance, light construction, decommissioning, cable/flexible/umbilical lay, and pipelay
* Experience with tendering ROV based subsea construction, decommissioning, survey and/or inspection projects.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative team environment
* Ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness
* Adaptable, capable of adjusting plans and priorities quickly to respond to market dynamics, emerging opportunities and internal changes / developments.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and growing organisation, showing resilience and flexibility in the face of challenges or changing circumstances
