Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Home Manager (Non-Nurse) to join our team in Canvey Island. This is a key leadership role within a well-established care facility, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our residents, particularly those living with dementia. As the Home Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the care home, working closely with the Deputy Manager, care staff, and other team members to provide exceptional care in a person-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management: Lead and motivate a dedicated care team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the home.
* Dementia Care: Take responsibility for managing and enhancing the quality of life for residents, especially those with dementia, ensuring their care needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
* Medication Management: Supervise and support the medication rounds, ensuring safe and accurate medication administration, in line with care home protocols.
* Compliance & Regulation: Ensure the home operates in full compliance with regulatory standards (CQC) and health and safety requirements. Conduct audits and address any areas of concern.
* Care Planning & Review: Work alongside the Deputy Manager and staff to implement, review, and update care plans, ensuring personalised care delivery to each resident.
* Quality Assurance: Monitor the effectiveness of care through regular reviews and ensure continuous improvement of services provided.
* Staff Development: Assist with training, supervision, and development of the team to maintain a high level of care and professionalism.
* Family & Resident Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents' families, ensuring open communication about care and wellbeing.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Home Manager role, preferably within a nursing home environment.
* NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification.
* Proven experience in managing dementia care and a good understanding of the complexities involved.
* Experience in medication management and understanding of medication rounds.
* Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, particularly during day shifts.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
* Knowledge and experience in CQC regulations and ensuring compliance.
