Position – Commercial Development Manager
At Reedbut we approach managing all of our valued customers differently to other packaging businesses. We don’t work with an External Sales Team, as our Technical Sales Team has all of the knowledge required pre-sales to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the following areas:
* Commercial
* Pre-sales customer interaction
They will be responsible for managing a team of up to six people and will be expected to initially review the current working practices within the team, and then implement short and long term goals which will allow the business to improve on its commercial efficiencies whilst also growing our sales portfolio. We are looking for a leader who is customer focused, self driven and can demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement commercial pricing strategies tailored to different sectors and customer levels.
* Analyse market trends and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities ahead of our competitors.
* Support Technical Sales team to create innovative packaging solutions that meet customer needs and industry standards.
Customer Budgets/Activity:
* Manage customer budgets and activities, ensuring alignment with business goals and financial targets.
* Engage with customers during the pre-sales phase to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
Team Management:
* Lead and develop a team of up to six people, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
* Review current working practices and implement short and long-term goals to improve commercial efficiencies and grow the sales portfolio.
* Lead an effective sales process for specific products, services, or customers, involving direct customer interface.
* Sales Lead management with sound commercial judgment based on Business Strategy
Key Skills
Educational Background:
* Degree level education (minimum 2:1) in a relevant field.
Experience:
* Proven and demonstrable commercial management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or design environment.
Design Interest:
* Strong interest in design and enthusiasm for manufacturing environments.
Customer Focus:
* Passion for growth through customer opportunities and ability to exceed client expectations.
Organisational Skills:
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance day-to-day tasks and long-term planning.
* Proficiency in using and interpreting financial tools to strategically improve margins.
Presentation Skills:
* Strong presentation skills, capable of developing compelling presentations and demonstrations.
Leadership Skills
* Proven leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities
Hours of Work:
* 37.5 hours per week with a 30 minute lunch break.
* Up to £70,000 per annum.
* Company car – electric model available.
Holidays:
* The basic annual leave entitlement is 25 working days plus 8 statutory.
