English (Second in Department)

English is a vital component of our curriculum, playing a pivotal role in shaping students' academic and personal growth. We offer a comprehensive range of courses comprising Year 9 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, English Functional Skills, and A-Level English Literature. Each course is designed to cater to diverse learning needs and interests. More than just a subject, English is fundamental to developing essential literacy skills that underpin success across all areas of life. For our students, we aim to foster critical thinking, effective communication, and broad understanding of language, literature, including its relevance to society.
This is an exciting opportunity for an English specialist looking to grow in leadership and develop as an outstanding practitioner. You will join a friendly, supportive and experienced team of specialists consisting of the English Curriculum Lead, a KS5 coordinator and a senior leader.

AUEA’s success as a University Technical College has been recognised nationally including the Secretary of State awarding an expansion in STEM specialist facilities, such as the newly installed £350K simulation hospital.
