Support for Success Practitioner – full time and part time posts available.
Children’s Services - Corporate Parenting Service.
Hi, I am Suzie Stephens, Team Manager for the Support for Success Service. We have been a ‘live’ service since April 2021 and have established great working relationships with Team Managers across the Corporate Parenting service, as well as Foster Carers, Supervising Social Workers and professionals from a wide range of disciplines.
We have ambitious plans to shape how we work with families, placing practitioners and relationship-based practice at the heart of what we do. Through Vital Signs, our vision for Children in Norfolk, we work with whole family networks and across the whole system to support families to build on their strengths and to achieve the best possible outcomes.
As a Support for Success Practitioner, you will work alongside Social Workers, Family Networking Advisors, Clinicians and Personal Advisors to provide intervention to children, young people, their carers and families to bring about positive change.
This work will include working with children and young people when they are experiencing crisis, utilising interventions such as psycho education and emotional regulation strategies to support them and to stabilise the placement they are in. You will also work with carers when they are struggling to support the placement and to improve relationships between carers and the young people they look after. You will support family members and parents to work towards children and young people returning to their care, utilising behaviour change tools such as Motivational Interviewing to support this work.
With the relevant experience, you will also be provided with training in the tools and interventions needed to equip you with this role. You will receive regular clinical supervision in addition to personal supervision and support. It is an exciting time to join the Corporate Parenting Service in Norfolk as we embark on transforming the way we work with children and young people to support better outcomes and to work together as a parenting network to enable young people to be successful in achieving their aspirations.
