We are looking to recruit a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our client in Stroud with a focus on preventative maintenance. The role involves working a rolling 3 shift pattern. The position reports to the Engineering and Project Manager. Holidays are 23 days per annum with an option to purchase up to five extra (at management discretion). Bank holidays are additional, but you may be asked to work a Bank Holiday for which you will be given an extra day at a later date. Salary is £38,850pa with a 10% shift allowance, making a total of £42,735pa.
There is an optional pension scheme to which the company will match personal contributions up to a maximum of 5%, and you can choose to contribute more if you wish.
The role is focused on ensuring that line downtime is kept to a minimum through proactive planned preventative maintenance and prompt response to any issues. The role requires someone who is adaptable and able to problem-solve in a sometimes-pressured environment.
Shift Patterns:
Earlies: Monday to Thursday 05.45 – 14.15
Days: Monday to Thursday 07.30 – 16.00
Lates: Monday to Thursday 13.45 – 22.15
Responsibilities:
1. Fault finding on electrical systems
2. Knowledge of PLCs
3. Carrying out routine PPMs – lubrication, changing seals, meter readings, replacing worn bearings, conveyor components, etc.
4. Computer literate – Excel/Word
5. Experience of a CMMS and stores stock system
6. Mechanical and pneumatic fault finding
7. Diagnosing faults with 3ph electric motors and pumps
8. Some basic electrical knowledge/fault finding experience
Requirements:
Will be someone who is adaptable, able to work unsupervised, and capable of prioritizing their own workload. Working as part of a small team is essential, as is dedication to safety and quality.
