This post is full time, and has funding for up to 24 months. The School of Mathematics & Statistics is looking for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the EPSRC funded project Geometry of Double Loop Group s working with Dr Dinakar Muthiah who is the principal investigator. The project is about various approaches to the geometry of double loop groups: via p-adic loop groups and their Hecke algebras, via Coulomb branches, and via coherent sheaf approaches to Hecke algebras and their modules. Candidates will need to have expertise in an area relevant to the project. Broadly speaking, the job requires expert knowledge in Representation Theory, Algebraic Geometry, or a closely related area. This is a 2 year position in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The position comes with funding for research travel and computer equipment (laptop and tablet). The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow. For example, part of the project funding is for hosting a workshop and candidates are expected to actively contribute to the planning and organisation. For informal enquiries or further information about the project, please contact: Dr Dinakar Muthiah ( Dinakar.Muthiahglasgow.ac.uk ) For more information on the University of Glasgow’s, School of Mathematics & Statistics, please visit https://www.gla.ac.uk/schools/mathematicsstatistics/ For more information and to apply onlineby clicking the 'Apply' button, above.
