As an Underwriter you will be responsible for assessing consumer credit applications from customers, making an informed decision whether to lend. These decisions are to be made in accordance with the companies lending policies, making sure the customer satisfies relevant credit reference checks. You will also identify potential fraudulent applications, liaising with other departments to investigate the situation. The underwriters are responsible for assessing customers’ ability to repay loans, making credit decisions in line with company criteria, credit policy and within service level agreements to ensure excellent customer journeys. What you’ll be getting up to: Underwrite all customer types and score bands within defined risk policy guidelines. Support the underwriting department in the completion of the necessary onboarding checks to ensure that customer applications are within Oodle’s risk appetite. Review CRA documentation to identify any analyse any possible risks in the customers profile and make lending decisions based on the information identified. Undertake detailed analysis of financial documentation to ensure that declared income is recorded correctly and that the finance application is affordable for the customer. Reviewing KYC documentation submitted by customers to ensure their legitimacy. Liaise with customers and dealers to ensure quick turnaround times on all applications. Support and provide guidance to members of the offshore team and payout function in the completion of day-to-day activities. The role will be a great fit if you have: Ability to manage high volume of task and meet deadlines. Ability to understand and interpret financial information. Strong focus on ensuring good customer outcomes. Previous experience in financial services as an underwriter. Knowledge of regulations relating to Consumer Duty, Compliance, Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering, Consumer Credit Directive and Consumer Credit Act. Desirable: Experience working within the Motor Finance sector. Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
