We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Approvals Manager within the Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace Regulatory Approvals team in Derby.
In this role, you will provide regulatory support, advice and expertise to the growing MRO business within Rolls-Royce, to ensure that the relevant laws/regulations and customer requirements are understood and delivered as part of the wider business strategy. Although focussed on EASA and UKCAA Part 145 Maintenance regulations, this will also include all regulatory approvals that the Rolls-Royce MRO business must comply with.
As a member of the Part 145 Regulatory team, you will be deployed across the wider Civil Aerospace business, initially to the Trent 1000 team, to develop the regulatory compliance strategy and then ensure the implementation and deployment of this strategy is effective. This is where your ability to influence senior stakeholders, both internal and external to Rolls-Royce, and to build networks internationally across the global regulatory authorities and the RR MRO regulatory teams, will be key to your success.
In addition to this, you will also support activities such as:
* Ensuring the robustness of the alignment between the RRMS and the associated regulatory requirements.
* Engaging across the wider RR landscape to ensure regulatory alignment – Supply Chain, LRU management, indirect resource planning.
* Standardising all regulatory approvals to ensure a consistent means of compliance across the business.
* Representing Rolls-Royce in regulatory/industry bodies, to influence the future regulatory landscape.

What you will be doing:
In this exciting role, lead the deployment of the regulatory assurance strategy within the aligned business area to achieve its goals, enhance its reputation and deliver customer satisfaction, as well as:
* Develop the regulatory capability (skills & knowledge) and culture of direct reports, where applicable; as well as of personnel within the aligned business to ensure process compliance and meet regulatory, customer and business requirements.
* Govern the delivery of compliance performance (KPIs) to maximise efficiency and effectiveness in meeting requirements and business goals. Where performance diverges from target, drive appropriate mitigation through coaching or direct action.
* Ensure relevant law / regulation, customer requirements and business strategy are understood; to input into the compliance strategy and ensure the effective implementation and deployment of this into the aligned area. Where applicable, to fulfil a specific role as defined by applicable law / regulation and / or to manage the interface with a regulatory body/Customer.
* In partnership with the risk owners, provide proactive assurance within the aligned business area that regulatory, business and customer requirements will be met through an assurance strategy targeted at risks and associated controls. This may involve conducting on-site Audits in support of the agreed Audit Plan.
* To drive change to the Operating System, Management System and SABRe/GS3001 where necessary to mitigate risks, maximise effectiveness and eliminate cost / waste through insight obtained from proactive assurance and problem themes.
* Protect the business and customer through performing, governing and coaching of problem containment and resolution methods and tools, to minimise impact and to ensure the necessary corrective and preventative actions are completed and verified in a timely manner. Ensure the effective governance of Problem Management exists within the aligned area.
* Ensure all relevant regulatory documentation is maintained and aligned to the business and to the regulatory requirements by working with the aligned business to understand and define the appropriate means of compliance.
* Enable the aligned area to achieve Right First Time through the coaching and application of defect prevention methodologies and compliance to the Management System, reducing the risks from technical, human and organisational factors to our products.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience of delivering Quality and/or Regulatory assurance through a previous role.
* Experience of Part 145/MRO Operations within Aerospace, Defence or related industries.
* Ideally, knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies, eg; Six Sigma, 8D, Human Factors.
* Ideally, have operational experience of activities within the relevant approved organisation scope.
